Do we ever stop to look at our breathing? Maybe when we are running of breath, or taking scuba diving classes. Ordinarily, adults don't bother with breathing - because it should be automatic right?
Inhaling brings much needed oxygen essential for metabolism. Our organs need uninterrupted supply oxygen - otherwise they will cease to function. The more oxygen in our system the more energy we have, we are able to think better too.
As children we were taught, “stomach-in-chest-out” is the proper way of breathing. But actually correct breathing is to expand our belly (technically our diaphragm) when we breathe in.
Imagine your belly is a balloon, as you breathe in through your nose you fill that balloon with so much air that you feel it expand. Then as you breathe out through your mouth the balloon deflates and all that carbon dioxide (toxins) inside your body comes out.
Take a break of a minute or two throughout the day to breathe properly and experience the power of your breath - you will feel better, more energized, think clearer, less confused or dull, less sleepy.
Finally, you can understand more about the psycho-spiritual implications of breathing - like taking in and letting go during our RefreshLife sessions. Call today for the next schedule.
